WEASELHAWKS UNIFORMS
BRAND NEW TEES FOR 2007
Hell, yeah. Shirts are on the way -- in a green & yellow John Deere (NOT Green Bay Packers) color scheme. Designed by Jake Nassif. Yes, we are indeed the FUNNEST team in the league.
RED HEATHER RINGER
For the 2004 AASL season, the now-independent Weaselhawks chose to spend more of the players fees on beer for the games (one particularly hard-fought game was even enhanced by a bottle of Jim Beam, and a few cans of malt liquor made their way into the equipment chest), and decided to go with the more economical red heather ringer (NOT pink, mind you) from American Apparel. Weaselhawk Sarah Nassif generously conducted a screen printing seminar in her basement studio; numbers were hand-stenciled, Fat Lorenzo's pizza was consumed, and the Weaselhawks were the envy of the league as they hit the field for the season opener. Travis Olson's "is it a hot dog or a penis with wings?" re-design of the Weaselhawk mascot boasted the now-famous Weaselhawk "kah!" battlesound. The 'hawks will be proudly sporting this same design for the 2005 season.
PINSTRIPE PULLOVERS
2002 was an exciting year for the Weaselhawks marketing department. Not only did Eric King maintain a stunning website, but he also dazzled the team when he unveiled this bold new design. The pullover was accented by a simple, elegant one-color print of the Weaselhawk character on a black mesh cap. The mesh was a radical departure from the fitted baseball caps that perched on the majority of the AASL teams' heads. The mesh design was also a respectful nod to Weaselhawk Jake Nassif's meshcap.com site, which extolled the expressiveness of the mesh "trucker cap" long before the Williamsburg hipster contingent ran the style into the ground.
PINSTRIPE BUTTON-UPS
Back in the days when Kilter sponsored the team, the money flowed a little more freely, and project manager Anne Maas was able to convice the Kilter bean-counter (well, that WAS Big Dave, who was also the team leader and full time pitcher) that we needed "real" jerseys. (Ahh, the glory days. Anne really kicked ass when it came to breaking out the Company Charge Card at the bar after the games.) The 1999 season saw the introduction of the classic Weaselhawk Pinstripes Button-up jersey. Hats were designed, but not produced, even though Lids, a national retailer specializing in hats, was the primary client of Kilter at the time. The newly-developed Weaselhawks mascot drawing, which was to be printed on the hat, never saw the light of day, other than the occasional banner or Weaselhawk-on-a stick.
ROUGH DRAFT T-SHIRTS
Issued for the inagural season of the Kilter-sponsered franchise in 1997, the Rough Draft logo and 2-color screen-printed T-shirts were more-than-likely designed by Jamie Parker, Travis Olson or Ben Levitz. Who knows? The pit-stains look like Jamie's.
